Stress
Stress can be defined as the way you feel when you’re under more pressure than you can handle. Pressure can be demands or expectations from work, home or your personal life, and the level of stress that you can cope with is purely unique to you. Stress management training aims to help you to build your individual resilience.
While stress can motivate and drive you to perform at your optimum level and boost energy, it can also have damaging physical affects and be harmful to your mind and body.
Physical symptoms of stress include tiredness, headaches, stomach upsets, indigestion, weight loss or gain, pounding heart, chest pains, dizziness.
Emotional symptoms include anxiety, depression and irritability. You may experience negative thinking, lack of interest and loss of concentration, confusion and forgetfulness.
Stress management training using a combination of CBT and Mindfulness can help you to manage stress by enabling you to understand your reactions and create positive changes in how you think, feel and behave so that you are able to manage difficulties more effectively. It can profoundly change your experience of work and relationships.
